At a Loss

My wonderful friend and fellow artist,
passed away suddenly last week.
She was an extraordinary and talented woman
and will be missed by many.

"Stop and Smell the Lilacs"
9 x12 oil

I did this painting of her about  five years ago and
always meant to give it to her.
Lesson learned.
BTW ~ Her hair really was that color!

Mary thinks it's better for you to have it.

  4. Oh Nancy, I'm so sorry to hear about the death of your friend. It's a wonderful painting - you've captured such a natural posture. And a very familiar scene around here. It would be a beautiful gift to give someone who loved her <3

  6. Thanks everyone. I ended up giving the painting to her sister today, who was very touched. Mary is thrilled, to be sure.

  8. i agree with Mary (Sheehan Winn)...your painting probably means the world to her sister... Mary Lizotte was a wonderful painter and a bigger than life personality. I enjoyed painting with her and Ros. They were both wonderfully accomplished painters and interesting women.
